We all live busy lives. That being said, we are still beauty devotees and we do need a few minutes of “me time” in the morning to apply a handful of clutch products. From one sleeping beauty to another, we’re here to give you a taste of the five-minute makeup routines that get us out the door feeling fly and relatively on time.

1. Tinted Moisturisers
Reaching for coverage products that also double as moisturizers will save you the added step of applying a dedicated lotion in the morning. I apply it with a foundation brush right after slapping on your daytime serum. It will even out your complexion and cover your redness, but still let your skin show through. Plus, it has a bit of sun protection.

Try: NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer or Garnier BB cream

2. Foundation Cum Concealer
Ditch the foundation. It takes too long to apply and end up making your face look flat. Pat a few dabs of this over any blemishes, into the ruddy corners of your nose, under your eyes, and around your lips as a sort of reverse lip liner. You will get more compliments on your skin than when you used foundation.

Try: Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Concealer or IT Cosmetics Confidence in a Compact or NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer,

3. Blush
Taking the extra minute to sweep on blush makes the biggest difference. This rose is closest to your natural flush, so even if you don’t blend it just right, it still looks good. Use a blush brush, smile and apply powder blush to the apples of the cheeks, keeping most of the product on the high part of the cheekbones. Blend up toward hairline, then down, swirling the brush to blend.

For olive to dark skin tones, try: M.A.C Sheertone Shimmer Blush in Trace Gold (a light gold with shimmer),

For fair skin, try: CoverGirl TruBlends MicroMinerals Blush in Natural Rose

4. Brows & Eyes
Gel brow-grooming products add density and hold with just a few quick swipes. Choose a shade that matches your current brow color. Even if you have sparse eyebrows, a small amount of tinted gel brushed upward creates fullness and will keep them in place. A bonus: It gives your complexion a lift. We are sure a lot of you are a big fan of huge brows. When you groom them you look gorgeous.

You can’t go without mascara. The result is deep, dark, full lashes in a single dip.

Don’t forget the eyebrows: Eyebrows are important. They frame your face. A little cleanup under the arch is all you really need. The thinner the brow, the older you look, so grooming should be minimal. If brows are too sparse, fill them in.

5. Perfect Lips
A lip color pencil is ideal when time is tight because it gives you control, which allows you to skip lip liner. Outline and fill in lips, then pat and blend with your finger for a soft yet skillful result. Always keep your pencils sharpened and this step goes much quicker. If you’re doing a bold color, you want it to be clean, but sometimes when it’s too sharp it looks pasted on. When you pat it on, it’s more like a stain, but it still has definition. Finish with a gloss or a sheer lipstick. They’re quicker to apply than a dark lipstick, which requires more precision, and women look younger with a little shine on their lips.

Tips:

Play up one feature: There’s one set unsaid rule- emphasize eyes or lips, but not both. And never play up cheeks at all. They shouldn’t be the one statement.
