What’s an ingrown hair anyway?
A hair that has curled around and grown back into your skin is an ingrown hair.
The deal is ingrown hair irritate the skin which makes them very very easy to spot.
Fret not and watch how you can avoid these ingrown hair.
#1. Daily prevention
Make a habit of rubbing your face gently in a circular motion using a wet washcloth. You may also use an exfoliating scrub to tease out any stubborn ingrown hair.
# 2. Get Shave-smart
The key to avoiding ingrown hair is to prepare for shave and then shave smartly. This lessens the chance of a hair slipping back into your skin.
Here’s how –
Step 1 – Always wet your face or body with warm water. Apply a shaving foam that contains natural oils like Dr Barber’s.
Step 2 – Use a razor that doesn’t require a lot of strokes. Say – a four-blade or a six-blade razor depending upon the thickness of hair. You may try a 4-blade one such as LetsShave Pace 4 or a six-blade razor such as LetsShave XL Pro.
Step 3 – Moisturize your skin after the shave.
Special TIP – Always start with the direction of grain first, then in the opposite direction if need be.
Check out the don’ts now –
1. Never use the same blade too many times. Dull blade is the topmost cause of ingrown hair.
2. Never use harsh products on your skin. The smoother your skin, the better the shave and fewer the ingrown hair.
3. Never push down too hard to get a smoother shave. Let the blade do the work.
Avoiding ingrown hair is in your hands. Take control today.
